Just a Brief Grief
A Brief Grief
I thought I was happy at the seashore,
But when I looked up at the sky at night,
I found the stars no longer danced with their light.
They stood there chained, with their stories untold.
Like women trapped in fates that they can't unfold.
I felt like the stars had lost their grace.
Burdened by the sorrow, they could neither flee nor face.
Then, as I gazed at my reflection in the water,
I gathered my thoughts & though there's not much to say—
Mine is just a 'brief grief' anyway.
"What grief?" You may ask, for I wonder that as well.
And not knowing the cause is what makes it hell.
A nameless sorrow within me finds its place.
An ache that lingers without any trace.
However, I found the answer after thinking for long.
I realized I was a mere piece, not a whole, all along.
And this 'hollowness of mine' that nothing could fill,
Will always be the ‘brief grief’ within my heart—quiet and concealed
